The Brief

Purplefish is the appointed communications agency for iconic Bristol event, St Pauls Carnival. Working with the Carnival for the first time in 2018, the Purplefish team was brought on board to create and deliver a communications campaign that celebrated the large-scale event whilst supporting the Carnival committee with any issues handling and management of crises.

The Work

For both the 2018 and 2019 events, Purplefish implemented a tailored communications programme including:

  • National and regional media engagement to convey positive news stories and updates about the Carnival
  • Consultation to the Carnival committee on issues handling and crises management which includes full pre-planning with the team
  • Social content creation and management of the social channels
  • An event media hub to liaise with journalists, co-ordinate media interviews, and monitor and update social channels with content from the event
  • A stakeholder engagement plan
